Setting Up Google Authenticator MFA

This guide will work for the following Okta systems:

  • Netsmart

For HHUNY Okta: We do not currently support this MFA method, nor do we plan to for the foreseeable future. We recommend users who would like to manage their MFA code on a mobile device to use Okta Verify instead.

For Netsmart: If you would like to reconfigure your MFA to include Google Authentication or change your existing Google Authenticator MFA method, please follow the following guide first appropriate to your situation first:  https://hhuny.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/2104/hhuny/KB/ArticleDet?ID=150764

If you would like to configure Google Authentication initially for Netsmart, you many follow this guide directly.

Setting Up Google Authenticator MFA

  1. When prompted to set up MFA, select "Google Authenticator":

  1. Select the device type that you would like to install Google Authenticator on and follow the provided instructions to install Google Authenticator on your device (if it is already installed, you may select device type and continue immediately):

  1. Follow the instructions: "Launch Google Authenticator, tap the "+" icon, then select "Scan barcode"." Scan the barcode provided when prompted and it should be saved, then click "Next":

  1. Enter the code provided for auth.netsmartcloud.com in the prompt:

Once you have successfully verified the code, you will now have the option to receive your MFA codes via Google Authenticator.
